16th European Researchers’ Night and WeBaSOOP team

On Friday, September 26, from 4 to 10 p.m. the WeBaSOOP Project team participated in the 16th European Researchers’ Night that was held in 16 cities across Serbia. Our team presented the workshop titled “Air in Focus – Multi-Level Air Pollution Monitoring” where visitors could hear about:

  • 🔬 What a supersite is and how it works
  • 🚶‍♂️ How mobile monitoring is conducted
  • 📡 What low-cost sensor networks can reveal
  • Furthermore, for the youngest visitors of the event, we have made an interactive PC game involving recognizing rapidly appearing pollution sources, which generated a lot of interest

They learned how state-of-the-art instruments work and what principles they rely on to monitor air pollution, as used in the ongoing Horizon Europe WeBaSOOP project, the recently completed H2020 VIDIS project, and other international and domestic initiatives led by the VIDIS Center at the Vinča Institute.
